West End Development

New Condos in West End DC

For many years 'residential' in the West End neighborhood meant older luxury condos and apartments mixed with blocks of commercial office buildings, hotels and restaurants. Many office tenants had left West End in favor of new office development downtown and, during the residential construction boom of the late 1990’s to early-2000’s, a major neighborhood transformation began, largely attributable to one developer; EastBanc. It began with 22 West, then the WestLight, and most recently 2501 M. The "West End Projects" also included upscale retail, luxury apartments, a new library and fire station. The world-renowned Nobu restaurant opened in September of 2017 on the ground floor of 2501 M. Today, West End’s always-elegant persona enjoys a much higher profile and its real estate a much higher price tag.
